Lora Lucia Maurico

Born in Dublin, Ireland 1986

2006 - 2009 Studied at the Institute of Art Design and Technology​

Graduated with Distinction, BA in Design in Model Making for Film and Media

 

 

      Lora Maurico is a freelance modelmaker and sfx make up artist, who has been studying and working professionally since 2006. She has worked on numerous projects, ranging from set painting and event decoration to costume fabrication and props/prosthetics for Tv&Film. 

 

      In her chosen field being multidiciplinary is an absolute neccessity, so Lora has had extensive experience in many areas incl. sculpting, moulding, painting and body casting...to name a but a few. Using what she has learned over the years, she has also branched out into SFX make up, and as fate would have it, in 2013 Lora secured herself a position in the make up effects depts. for both the History Channels hit tv show Vikings, and Showtimes new tv thriller Penny Dreadful. 

 

       In addition to studying and working on her career, Lora volunteered in Lourdes for 3 years earning a bronze medal for her efforts. She has become very well travelled, spending two of her summers living in Orlando, Fl and San Diego, CA, and another inter-railing across Europe. Over the last 12 years she has done background extra work in Tv & Film, and is currently represented by Fraser Model&Actors. She once competed in The Rose of Kildare competition, unfortunately she lost out to an irish dancer but if you ask anyone who was there, they'd tell you...she was robbed!

 

       An avid movie buff and zombie nerd, Loras affinity for the macabre and horrifying influences her work and solidifies her love and enthusiam for all things SFX. She is a team player and capable team leader, commited and determined, Lora continues to progress her passion for modelmaking and make up, and her dedication to getting a job well done. 

 

    Based in Dublin, Ireland....but willing to travel anywhere, she is always interested in new projects and new collaborations to add to her belt...sure how else will she make her mark among the SFX giants?!
